From festivals to markets and everything in between, DFW has more than enough wonderful autumn-themed activities. In this blog post, we'll be highlighting some of the best fall activities you can find in cities around the metroplex.
Desoto
Desoto Fall Festival: A beloved tradition for over 30 years now, the Desoto Fall Festival is an annual event held at Grimes Park. It features live music performances, food trucks and vendors, a car show, and of course, plenty of fun activities for children. This year's festival will be held on October 23rd from 10am to 9pm.
Dallas
State Fair of Texas: Located in the heart of Dallas, the State Fair of Texas is an iconic event that has been going on since 1886! From September 29th to October 22nd, you can enjoy a variety of rides, food, and entertainment. Be sure to check out the famous Big Tex statue and take a ride on the Texas Star Ferris wheel.
Dallas Halloween Vendor Market: For all your Halloween shopping needs, head over to the Dallas Halloween Vendor Market on October 28th in Trinity Groves. From costumes to decorations, this event has it all. Plus, there will be food trucks and entertainment for the whole family.
Royse City
Royse City Fun Fest: Located just a short drive from Forney, the Royse City Fun Fest is a free community event that features live music, carnival rides, arts and crafts vendors, and a car show. This year's festival will be on October 21st from 10am to 8pm at the Royse City Community Park.
Blase Family Farm: For a more traditional fall experience, visit the Blase Family Farm in nearby Rockwall, TX. They offer pumpkin patches, hayrides, and a corn maze for all ages to enjoy. Don't forget to pick up some fresh produce at their farm stand.
Forney
Trail of Treats: Hosted by the city of Forney, this event will take place on October 28th from 3PM – 6PM at Community Park, 241 S. FM 548. Come by to see over 60 community-sponsored booths, family-friendly activities and more.
Justin
Crocheting and Quilting events: If you're looking for something more low-key, check out the variety of crocheting and quilting events happening in Justin. From beginner classes to advanced techniques, these events are perfect for those who want to learn a new creative skill or improve their current ones.
Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale Turkey Trot: Held on November 28th annually, the turkey trot features both 5k and 1-mile fun runs, perfect for seasoned runners or people just looking to have some fun!

Weekly Fall Storytime Events: Occurring every Wednesday through September and October every year, visit the Library community room at the Azle Memorial Library for reading, singing, dancing, crafting, playing and more family fun.
