Horton Capital Properties Acquires Glacier Custom Homes

Kindred Homes' parent company, Horton Capital Properties, recently acquired Dallas-Ft. Worth area custom home builder, Glacier Custom Homes. Established in 2010 by Todd Miller, Glacier will continue to build custom homes in the DFW area under the Glacier brand. HCP is always looking for ways to improve and expand its holdings. With acquiring Glacier, HCP was able to capitalize not only on Glacier's assets but on the talent that comes with it. Todd will now be running our Texas homebuilding operations, and we are confident great things are to come for both of our brands.

Below are a few questions and answers regarding the acquisition.

  • Will the brand Glacier Custom Homes go away? Right now, we will continue to build our custom product under the Glacier brand name. The Glacier Homes website will remain active so you can see where we are building. We will have some communities that will change their name to Kindred Homes, but you can expect the same excellent quality of home.
  • How does the name change affect me, a potential buyer? There are many reasons why you should be excited about our merger; HCP will deliver long-term confidence and stability for decades to come. We hope you decide to take that next step with us! HCP is committed to building quality homes for your family.
  • How does the name change affect me, a current homebuyer? No, this won't affect your new home purchase. Your current contract, closing date, and warranty will not be affected by the acquisition. You are welcome to reach out to your sales counselor with questions.
  • As a current homeowner, how does this change affect my new home warranty? It doesn't. You will continue to receive all of the same benefits of the builder, structural, and manufacturer warranties provided when you purchased your new home.
