It is that time of year again. Time to deep clean and declutter our living spaces, and someone has to do some work to get the house in tip-top shape.
We know that the process of spring cleaning can be both daunting and exhausting, but we have some tips to help make it as painless as possible because we all know few things in life feel better than coming home to a clean house!
For the Bathrooms
- If your bathroom fixtures have tricky hard water stains that won't come off with the help of traditional cleaners, try cutting a lemon in half and scrubbing the surfaces. The citric acid cuts through these stubborn marks and also helps removes rust stains from bobby bins or razors left in the shower.
- If your water pressure is affected by mineral deposits, try using white vinegar to dissolve the build-up. Secure a plastic bag filled with vinegar around the showerhead with a rubber band and let it soak overnight. Take it off in the morning and immediately rinse. Be sure to let the water run for a bit before hopping in for a shower, or you will smell like vinegar all day!
For the Kitchen
- We all know cleaning the microwave can be challenging. Cut a lemon in half, squeeze the juice into a microwave-safe cup, add the rine to the cup, and microwave for three minutes. Let the cup sit for five minutes without opening the door, then wipe away the grime without all the elbow grease!
- If you have a stainless steel sink, use baking soda to make it sparkle again! Wet the sink and faucet, sprinkle with baking soda, and then scrub with a sponge. For more heavy-duty cleaning power, try adding salt!
It can seem like quite the task to deep clean the entire house, so take it slow and try cleaning one room or area a day! We created a checklist you can download and print to help motivate you to do the hard stuff.
